I've been in Winnipeg about thirty-five years, and out here in West St. Paul for twenty of them.
I came in 2006, bought almost five acres, and built my own home on it with my own hands, because I was a project manager back then. Today I'm a realtor. My three kids grew up right here on this land, and now that they're grown they still come back for it: the gardening, the grass, the dogs running around a big open yard.

Drive past my place and you'll probably see me out in the garden.
I love nature. That's a big reason I ended up on a big yard out here instead of in the city. I keep a few parrots and peacocks, and a couple of dogs who run the place. I'm a friendly guy who likes his animals, his land, and his neighbours.
I never planned on politics. That was never me. But for years I looked at what needed fixing around here and thought, somebody should really do something about that. Then one day it hit me: maybe that somebody is me.
I'll be honest about what a councillor can't do.
One councillor is one vote out of several, so I can't fix everything by myself. What I can do is bring the real issues forward and push hard for them, every single time. I won't promise you things I can't deliver just to win.
I'll show up.
You can't represent your ward from your couch. Present and prepared, every single meeting. I come from business, where showing up and doing the work isn't something you get credit for. It's just the job.
I'll be reachable.
For twenty years nobody out here has needed an appointment to reach me. They stop at my mailbox and we talk. I want to keep that. Answer the phone, return the email, even when the answer is no.
